The ShineWing International Partners Conference 2017 at Hong Kong

ShineWing International Partners Conference, with the theme of “Driving Connectivity and Opportunities” was held from 1 – 3 November 2017 at the Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong.  Over 130 partners from all members firms across 24 cities of the ShineWing network attended the conference.  The annual mega event, hosted by ShineWing Hong Kong brought the key partners together to strengthen relationship, discover new opportunities, and explore ShineWing’s strategy under the challenge of an ever-changing market.

An office tour of ShineWing Hong Kong, followed by a welcome dinner at the Harbour Cruise – Bauhinia on the first day, marked the official opening of the conference.  The conference spanned three days and featured international partners from different countries, including Mr. Zhang Ke, Chairman of ShineWing International, Mr. Roy Lo, Managing Partner of ShineWing Hong Kong, Mr. Marco Carlei, Managing Director of ShineWing International, Mr. Ye Shaoxun, Managing Partner of ShineWing China, Mr. Kent Lim, Managing Partner of ShineWing Singapore, Mr. Danny Armstrong, Managing Partner and Mr. Steve Allan, Partner of ShineWing Australia, Dr. Teoh Toh Yeap, Managing Partner of ShineWing Malaysia, Dr. Ayman Kamel, Managing Partner of ShineWing Egypt and Mr. Akira Yamamoto, Managing Partner of ShineWing Japan.

Other guest speakers included Mr. Tan Yueheng, Chairman of Chinese Securities Association of Hong Kong, Mr. Nicolas Kwan, Director of Research of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Mr. Chiew Chun Wee, Regional Head of Policy for ACCA and Professor Edward K Y Chen, Chairman, HKU SPACE (School of Professional and Continuing Education).

Mr. Lo said in his official conference welcome speech, “Our Hong Kong city has long been a connector between China and the rest of the world in terms of trade, finance and culture. Against the backdrop of this environment, while ShineWing Hong Kong takes a supportive role of promoting Chinese businesses, we are also highly involved in the international expansion of ShineWing. Over the years, we have been working collaboratively with all of the ShineWing member firms to facilitate the growth of our global network and showcase the prominence of ShineWing.”

Mr. Zhang also highlighted the future development strategy of ShineWing International in his Chairman’s address.  “To continually strive for the growth of ShineWing in the international market, we would keep developing our network, expanding from Asia Pacific to other continents.  We would also promote work referral and collaboration among member firms and further exchange of talents and resources. ” said Mr. Zhang.

We had two panel discussions on “Driving Connectivity across Member Firms during the Era of Globalization” and “Unlocking Opportunities across Service Lines and Regions”.  There were 5 other breakout sessions, namely audit and assurance, tax, initial public offering, advisory, and transaction services, exploring how to optimize performance in different service lines.  The Gala Dinner, held on 2 November, which was a part of the conference programme, also allowed more networking opportunities for our worldwide partners to exchange with the VIP clients and guest speakers.  The conference ended with the farewell dinner and peak night walk, letting our partners enjoy the beauty of Hong Kong after the three-day conference.
